The story of Melissa & Doug’s beginnings is as sweet as their toys. Over 25 years ago, Doug decided to pop the question to Melissa: will you start a business with me? Starting out in Doug’s parents’ garage, they made traditional wooden toys for kids of all ages until gradually they were able to move into a real office – but their close-up focus on quality and design remained the same.
